MAP OF OUESSO

Ouesso is a city in the north of the Republic of Congo, located on the banks of the Sangha River, a tributary of the Congo River, and surrounded by the equatorial forest. Its river port is one of the most active in the northern part of the country. The city, with an airport, is served by a regular air link from Brazzaville. It serves as an administrative center for one of the main logging areas in the Republic of Congo (especially around the city of Pokola), which is largely populated by pygmies.

Dolisieformerly called Loubomo (until the national conference of 1991) is the third city of the Republic of Congo, located in the center of the axis Pointe-Noire Brazzaville. It is located in the Niari region, of which it is the chief town. The city is connected by the national road 1 as well as by therailway Congo-Ocean (CFCO) to the two main cities of the country, Brazzaville (350 km) and Pointe-Noire, as well as in Gabon which is about200 kilometers to the north. Its current mayor is Paul Adam Dibouilou, who succeeded Jean-Michel Mavoungou-Ngot.
